February Jungle Roar
Happy Valentine Day
Happy Mardi Gras
Wow lots of celebrations this month. We will be joining our fellow corvette clubs from around the area on Sunday, February 12th for lunch at Middendorf’s. Please bring your “Sweetheart” for a great time. Details can be obtained on our website.
Continuing with the celebrations for this month we also need to make note of the many Mardi Gras Parades in which we will be a part. Please try and help drive when Maria calls. Also, Orion, on Sat., Feb. 11th, is an open parade for coupes, convertibles and hard tops. We ride for fun! Let Maria know if you plan on participating and bring your throws. A good time is always had by all and followed by, what else but dinner. Again all of the information for these events can be found on our website, heard at the meetings, or just give Maria a call.
The Jambalaya Appreciation Lunch for our sponsor Ross Downing was another huge success. We had more members than I’ve ever seen attend and help serve. In fact, last year’s servers were able to sit back and watch several of our new members hard at work in support of the BRCC. Heartfelt thanks to all that were able to make it there. A special thank you to our Vice-President Daryle Gauthier for cooking and bringing all of the necessary paper products, dessert and drinks. We so appreciate you!
Our Annual St. Jude Car Show is just around the corner, with an April 29th date. Please sign up to work that day, bring in live & silent auction items, Country Store goods, sponsorships, In Memoriam sponsor plaques, goody bag items, etc. If you’re not sure what to do, we will be happy to answer your questions. Please jump in with both feet as there is no right or wrong thing to do or place to be and it’s all for St. Jude’s kids and the Research Hospital.
On Saturday, March 4th our club will be caravanning to the Legends Car Show at Boomtown in Harvey. Please make every effort to attend and support our fellow corvette club enthusiasts. Meet place and time is posted on our web page and will be announced at the meeting.
Sadly we must announce the passing of Bob Darcey, Past President of the Crescent City Corvette Club and a member of the BRCC. Bob joined his heavenly Father on January 24th. We pray for the repose of his soul and for the family and friends he’s left behind.
Finally, Spring is closer than you think so let’s get those vettes shined up, ready to cruise and don’t forget to Save the Wave – it’s the PROUD thing to do!
