Welcome to Fall

In light of the mass destruction in Texas and parts of Louisiana, in which so many of us can relate, I ask that you keep all of these people and rescue workers in your thoughts and prayers!

Well, it’s that time of year!  No not autumn – it’s PARADES/HOMECOMINGS SEASON!  We will be kicking off this year’s festivities with St. Amant High School’s Homecoming Parade followed by quite a few other bookings including Veterans Day Parades and Christmas Parades.  Yes, Maria has been quite busy for the last few days.  Our most notable Homecoming is, of course, LSU!  We will be driving 23 plus cars in this one.  Also, it is open to anyone with a coupe or hard top.  The more the merrier.  Please sign up at our general meeting this month or send a text/email/phone call to Maria letting her know you are interested in participating.  Trust me, if you don’t she WILL find you!  Geaux Tigers!

Many clubs will host car shows, displays and have cruises this fall.  Please refer to your calendar for any and all listings.  If you see something you’re interested in and not sure how to get involved, please don’t hesitate to call me or anyone of your officers or board members.

On Oct. 21st GNOCC will host their Extravetteganza in Slidell.  There are a lot of people to meet and cars to see at this one.  Oh, and ladies there is a little store/restaurant in which to SHOP.  Did I mention they also make pralines, etc. here!  YUM!!!!

The very next weekend following the Extravetteganza on the 27th and 28th of October is the Vettes by the Shore Show.  We have quite a few people going and making this an overnight or weekend trip.  Maria has a block of rooms.  Please contact her if you’re interested in going.  The kick-off party is a Halloween Costume event.  Very interesting (but you DO NOT have to dress in costume to attend).  More on all of these shows at the meeting.

Elections will be held in November for 2018/2019 BRCC Officers and Board.  Absentee voting will be available in person ONLY, at the October Board Meeting, therefore anyone wishing to run for a position on the board or would like to nominate someone, must first acquire their approval and providing they meet the eligibility requirements to run for that particular seat, will have their name added to the ballot.

We have quite a few members that are experiencing personal issues or concerns.  Please remember all of them in your prayers.  Our club is uniquely a one of a kind “Family” in which everyone of us plays an important role in unifying this closeness.  Maria and I are privileged to be a part of this wonderful association of men and women.  With the holiday’s fast approaching, it will be a welcomed celebration for what will encompass most of us and  I hope for others struggling through them, as many are still trying to get back home, I hope your return will be expedient.

Finally, don’t forget to Save the Wave!  It’s the proud thing to do!
