Jungle Roar
Congratulations are being passed around in abundance to the BRCC from the various shows attended in July.
Karen Bedell was chosen at the Austin, TX Corvette Invasion with two awards a top 50 and 1st Place over all trophy out of 700 Corvettes there, 16 states participating. Members Mark and Mary Jurey and Mark and Beverly Bensen traveled with Karen and David Bedell to San Antonio and Austin, TX for a fun filled long weekend and Karen and Mark Bensen drove the F1 Circuit of Americas track.
at the Jackson, MS show quite a number of our members took home some hardware! A total of 16 or so was brought back to Baton Rouge with some double winners too! Congratulations to trophy winners: Jim McLin, Leon Winstead, Tom Colello, Bill Huft, Davis Rayborn, Rich Veillette, Nathan Hatheway, Felix Famularo, Tom Wooten (Felix & Tom have duel memberships), Sponsors Awards: Jim McLin, Leon Winstead, Tom Wooten, Elaine Peck, Brian Pitre, Bill Huft, Tom Colello, and Rich Veillette. The cars were beautiful and the show was great! I feel we were ALL winners, just by spending time together laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
Our Steak Out is still a go for August 19th. The venue has been changed to “REDS” Restaurant off of Hwy. 22. Please be sure to RSVP to Maria by e-mail, text or phone. It is important that we get a head count. A caravan led by Karen will still meet at Sam’s Denham Springs in the side parking lot. Karen has the information on our website and has sent out emails.
Our General Meeting for August is BACK at the FIRE STATION hope to see you there.
Saturday, October 13th will be the revival of our members BRCC Halloween Party at Runnymede Condo’s on Old Jefferson Hwy. Club will provide main dish and soft drinks/water. You are asked to bring a covered dish. BYOL is permitted but please drink responsibly. Costumes are encouraged, but not a must. Please let Maria know if you plan on attending. A sheet will be passed around at our August & September meetings.
CALLING ALL CONVERTIBLES & COUPE’S!!!
Please note that October 20th is LSU’s Homecoming and Maria will be looking for as many coupes and convertibles as possible! Let her know if you plan on driving. GNOCC’s Show is the same day and I know some of you will be attending that as well.
Mark your calendars now for our Christmas Party. It will be on Sunday, December 9th at Sno’s Restaurant in Gonzales. The Secret Santa game will be played with our own little Vanna White Elf – Flo Winstead, and we will be collecting gift cards to send to St. Jude in increments of $5.00 preferably from Walmart if you wish to donate.
Karen has sent an email of instructions on how to update your web page. We encourage everyone to upload their information. She has all other events updated on our site as well.
FYI, school will be back in session the early part of August. Watch out for kids!
