March Jungle Roar
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
After a year of hibernation, a great time was had by all at our first Baton Rouge Corvette Club's (BRCC) General Meeting! It was wonderful seeing so many of our members in attendance. Fifty, to be exact. Our March General Meeting, normally on Wednesdays, has been changed to Thursday, the 11th, at Big Mikes Restaurant in Denham Springs, LA. Once again, this is a temporary night as there is no music played on Thursdays, as on Wednesdays.
Daylight savings time is arriving on March 14th and Spring on the 20th, which makes it ideal for car shows, displays and cruise ins popping up around our local area and some out of town. It is important to check our Website's Calendar of Events as Webmaster Karen adds to and updates all the changes.
The Annual BRCC Valentine's Day Cruise was a big success. On behalf of the BRCC, I presented all the ladies a chocolate rose and Karen presented all the men a red heart necklace. Following a great lunch, some of the members went to Sorrento where they enjoyed beignets and coffee.
We had several new members and some former members join our club at the February General Meeting. Please make them welcome in our usual BRCC style.
St Jude Raffle ticket sales are off to a good start. Please volunteer to help and do not forget to wear a mask. Barry will provide hand wipes and gloves. On February 20th, several members came out, displayed their beautiful corvettes and sold twenty-two (22) raffle ticket books at the Hi-Nabor Supermarket located on Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. This was our first sales event. We thanked Hi-Nabor Supermarket management for allowing us the opportunity for our 1st 2021 raffle sales event. Our next raffle sale is scheduled Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Butcher Boy Supermarket, 58045 Belleview Drive, Plaquemine, LA. Please mark this date on your calendars.
At this time we are forging full speed ahead on plans for our St. Jude Open Car Show. Hopefully, with most people receiving their Covid-19 vaccines and the fact that this is only the start of March, we'll all feel comfortable in attending more events.
Congratulations to all of you new C8 owners and remember, when out driving in your vettes don’t forget to Save the Wave, it’s the PROUD thing to do!
May the luck of the Irish shine upon you!
