IN  2015  the  Z06  was  introduced!

At the intersection of Le Mans and the Autobahn sits the best of American automotive design and engineering — the all-new 2015 Corvette Z06. This world-class supercar is the closest link yet between Corvettes built for racing and the road. Created to elevate the driving experience to the next level, Z06 was engineered to be lightweight and rigid with an aluminum space frame, carbon-fiber hood and removable carbon-fiber roof panel. It was also designed to be powerful, with a supercharged 6.2L aluminum V8 engine delivering at least 625 horsepower and 635 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2015 Corvette Z06 is one of the industry’s only supercars to achieve over 600 horsepower and offer a choice of two transmissions – a 7-speed manual or an all-new paddle-shift 8-speed automatic. The driver-centric Z06 elevates the experience even further with technologies like a Driver Mode Selector, which allows for customization of vehicle performance dynamics with the turn of a knob. And Corvette owners can relive their drives on or off the track with the available industry-exclusive Performance Data Recorder, which records high-definition video with telemetry overlays on playback.

Performance Data Recorder

Record, share and analyze your driving experiences on and off the track with the available industry-exclusive Performance Data Recorder. Add an extra dimension to your drive by logging video of your drives, along with real-time performance data, onto an SD memory card stored in the glove box. Four modes — Track, Sport, Touring and Performance — allow you to capture video, audio, driving stats, date and time, and a lot more. Data is captured using a seamlessly integrated, windshield-mounted HD camera module, as well as a performance processor, internal accelerometers and GPS system. Then play your video back on a computer, or relive your drive right inside Z06 (when stopped, of course) on the 8-inch diagonal color HD screen. You can even analyze your driving technique using included software that is similar to the analysis software used by Corvette Racing.

Choice of transmissions

The 2015 Corvette Z06 is the only supercar that delivers over 600 horsepower and offers the choice of a 7-speed manual or an all-new available track-certified 8-speed paddle-shift automatic. The standard 7-speed with Active Rev Matching enhances the driving experience by simulating heel-toe shifting perfection at the touch of a switch. The available 8-speed paddle-shift automatic offers the smooth control of a true automatic but with quick, precise shifts and manual mode for track driving. The 8-speed automatic delivers performance on par with dual-clutch design, but

TRACK MODE

Get Z06 onto a true race track and record video and audio, and get synchronized performance data — speed, rpm, g force, track maps, lap times, start/finish lines — overlaid onto the video playback.

SPORT MODE

With the Performance Data Recorder in Sport Mode, your video will also include key data such as speed and g force.

TOURING MODE

Capture video and audio of scenic drives, recording date and time, outside temperature, elevation, number of hairpin bends and more.

PERFORMANCE MODE

Records performance metrics, such as 0-to-60 mph acceleration, 1/4-mile speed and elapsed time, and 0-to-100-to-0 mph runs.

No compromises

Like its Stingray cousin, the Corvette Z06 convertible is built on the same rigid aluminum frame structure as the coupe version. Designed from the start to be an open-top vehicle, no additional reinforcements were required. The convertible design mimics the coupe roof to reduce drag, while increased downforce keeps the vehicle planted and efficient airflow controls temperatures and improves vehicle handling. The convertible Z06 delivers the same optimal performance as the coupe, but with the unprecedented option to lower the top. In fact, the 2015 Z06 is the very first 600+ hp supercar to be made available in both coupe and convertible, as well as automatic or manual transmission. The best of both worlds, in any universe.

In  2017  the  Grand  Sport  was  introduced!!

This may be the C7 Corvette to end all C7 Corvettes. The 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport is merely one-second off from the C6 Corvette ZR1’s posted lap time at the Milford Proving Ground, it carries over track-honed aerodynamics and offers up to 1.2 G in cornering capability. And, it’s running the naturally-aspriated 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine.

The 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport made its debut (after being semi-spoiled by Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin) at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, where Gavin and lead Corvette engineer Tadge Juechter unveiled the latest Grand Sport.

“Racing has been part of Corvette’s essence for more than 50 years and that track experience has helped us build better, more capable cars,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development and Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “The global acclaim for the seventh-generation Corvette validates that direct link and the 2017 Grand Sport takes its track-bred technology to a new, exciting threshold.”

The 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport adapted the chassis tuning, upgraded cooling systems, and performance technologies of the Corvette Z06 to create a Grand Sport to proudly carry on what the nameplate stands for, and its storied racing history.

“We didn’t hold back with the new Grand Sport,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “For the first time, buyers can equip the Grand Sport with a Z07 performance package – which adds carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Sport Cup 2 summer tires, and carbon-fiber aero package that delivers true downforce.”

Technical highlights of the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport include:

  • Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires: 285/30ZR19 (front) and 335/25ZR20 (rear)
  • Specific Grand Sport wheel design: 19×10 inches (front) and 20×12 inches (rear)
  • Brembo brake system with (355 mm) 14-inch rotors and six-piston calipers in front and (340 mm) 13.4 inch rotors and four-piston calipers in the rear
  • Standard magnetic ride control, specific stabilizer bars and unique springs
  • Standard electronic limited-slip differential
  • LT1 V8 engine rated at (343 kW) 460 hp, with dry-sump oiling system and active exhaust
  • Seven-speed manual transmission with active rev match and available eight-speed paddle-shift automatic with specific performance calibration
  • Available Z07 package adds carbon ceramic-matrix brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Cup tires

The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport doesn’t just take Z06 design cues and call it a day. The Corvette team carefully blended Z06 and Stingray to create a unique look to the Grand Sport. Specific front-fender inserts, a Z06-style grille and wider rear fenders help bring the Grand Sport to life in this seventh-generation of Corvette.

The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport will be available with the slew of exterior and interior trimmings currently available, but an available heritage package will bestow your very own C7 Corvette Grand Sport with hash-mark fender graphics.

If none of this sounds special enough, the Grand Sport Collector Edition may tickle your fancy, as it quite tickles ours. The Grand Sport Collector Edition adds an exclusive Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior hue with Tension Blue hash marks and satin black full-length stripes. Inside, Tension Blue suede and leather washes the interior cabin to create a stunning contrast from the Watkins Glen Gray exterior.

The seat headrest also receive an embossed, 3D representation of the original Grand Sport race car, with the same shape adorning the instrument panel plaque. The plaque also houses the Grand Sport’s build number.

       2019  Brings Back the  ZR1

The wait is over!  The 2019 Corvette ZR1 has debuted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It’s a good day to be a Corvette fan! GM Media brings us all the details.

DUBAI — The King is returning, stronger than ever.

Chevrolet today introduced the 2019 Corvette ZR1, a supercar that pushes Corvette’s performance legacy with the highest power, greatest track performance and most advanced technology in its production history.

ZR1 2019 front

ZR1 2019 back

The ZR1’s LT5 6.2L V-8 engine advances Corvette’s supercharging legacy, which began with the 2009 sixth-generation ZR1 and continued with the 2015 seventh-generation Z06.

The LT5 delivers the highest output ever for a Chevrolet production vehicle, thanks in part to a new, more-efficient intercooled supercharger system that offers 52 percent more displacement than the Z06’s LT4 supercharger. GM’s first dual-fuel-injection system, which employs primary direct injection and supplemental port injection, helps the LT5 achieve its record output.

The Corvette ZR1’s exclusive LT5 supercharged engine, which is rated at an SAE-certified 755 horsepower (563 kW) and 715 lb-ft of torque (969 Nm), is establishing a new benchmark in performance. Further, the ZR1 elevates Corvette’s track capability with two wind tunnel-honed aerodynamics packages, including an available High Wing that provides an estimated 950 pounds of downforce.

Seven-speed manual and eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmissions are available with the LT5. It’s the first time an automatic transmission has been offered in a ZR1.

Fastest ever

The 2019 Corvette ZR1’s aggressive appearance is driven by function, contributing to its distinction as the fastest production Corvette to date.

An all-new front fascia is designed to channel air for propulsion-system and drivetrain cooling, with four new radiators bringing the heat-exchanger total to 13. A special carbon-fiber “halo” hood is open in the middle to clear the LT5 engine’s supercharger/intercooler assembly. Additional features, including aero packages with stanchion-mounted wings, help push the ZR1 harder onto the track for more confident handling and faster lap times. Top speed of the ZR1 is over 210 mph.

The adjustable High Wing is part of the new ZTK Performance Package, which also includes a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and specific chassis and Magnetic Ride Control tuning for greater cornering grip.

Both of the ZR1’s wings are tied into the chassis, like the Corvette Racing C7.R racecar, for strength and stability.

Sebring Orange Design Package

The Corvette ZR1 introduced today also debuted a dynamic, available Sebring Orange Design Package. Centered on its Sebring Orange Tintcoat exterior color, the package also includes orange brake calipers, orange rocker and splitter accent stripes, orange seat belts, orange interior stitching and unique, bronze aluminum interior trim.

The new design package complements the Corvette ZR1’s tradition of offering maximum performance with refinement and design distinction. The driver-focused, well-appointed cockpit includes standard leather-trimmed seats, with sueded microfiber inserts offered. Heated and vented Napa leather-trimmed seating is also available, as well as a carbon fiber-rimmed steering wheel, competition sport seats, Performance Data Recorder, Bose premium audio system and more.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 goes on sale the spring of 2019, poised to take on the world’s best.

It’s good to be the King.
